Curved French Bed

I found this pretty curved french bed at the Goodwill.  The wood was pretty, but orangy and I knew it would be beautiful in Old White.

I tried some blue accents but ended up going back over the oval in white and just touching some blue around the edges.

The finished product.
The white paint is Annie Sloan Old White.  I tried a homemade chalk paint recipe for the blue accents.  It worked great!  The blue paint I used is Benjamin Moore Buckland Blue and some creamy white leftover latex paint mixed with plaster of Paris and water.  I sealed it with Annie Sloan clear wax.

Antique Writing Desk

Next up....

This antique writing desk.  The before shots are terrible, but you can see the pretty trim and lovely legs.

The finish on the inside was really worn.

We decided on Antibes Green Annie Sloan Chalk Paint for the outside.  At first it was a little shocking!

Antique Piano Bench

Before
After

The bench was in bad shape when I found it at Goodwill, but I loved the legs and the nailhead trim.
My daughter and I painted the base with French Linen chalk paint and waxed it with clear and dark wax. We recovered the bench with new foam, cream colored linen and matching gimp, and then replaced the original nail head trim, even reusing the old holes!

My favorite part - the feet!

We left the inside unpainted.

A close-up of the trim.

Ready for a new home.

This bench and more great vintage finds are for sale at the Aurora Antique Pavilion.
